Daesang Showcases Global Ingredient Innovations at IFT 2025, the World’s Largest Food Technology Expo
– International Buyers Gather in Chicago, July 14–16, to Explore Next-Gen Food Ingredients
– Daesang Highlights 69 Years of Expertise in Specialty Ingredients, From Alternative Sweeteners to Natural Seasonings
Daesang Corporation announced on July 17 its successful participation in IFT 2025 (IFT Food Expo 2025), the world’s largest food technology exhibition, held in Chicago, USA, from July 14 to 16. The company highlighted its growing global competitiveness in the food ingredient sector through a diverse and innovative portfolio of specialty ingredients.
Hosted annually by the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), the IFT Food Expo brings together leading experts and companies from across the food science and technology spectrum. This year’s event, held at McCormick Place in Chicago, welcomed over 1,200 exhibitors and 20,000+ buyers from more than 90 countries.
Following a strong showing in 2024, Daesang returned to IFT 2025 with a robust showcase of high-functionality ingredients backed by 69 years of R&D and fermentation expertise. Visitors responded enthusiastically to live demonstrations that featured the company’s signature umami-rich and low-sodium solutions.
Sweevero™ Allulose: The Future of Low-Calorie Sweetening
One of the major highlights was the introduction of Allulose under Sweevero™, Daesang’s innovative alternative sweetener brand launched in 2024. A rare sugar found naturally in figs and raisins, allulose provides the same sweet taste as regular sugar but is minimally metabolized by the body—making it virtually calorie-free. With the rise in consumer demand for low-sugar, health-conscious products, allulose is quickly gaining recognition as a next-generation sweetener.
To meet this growing demand, Daesang established a dedicated allulose production facility in Gunsan, South Korea, and is now preparing to expand into the U.S., Europe, Japan, and Southeast Asia with a broader range of low-calorie product offerings.
Natural Seasonings: Umami-Rich, Clean Label Solutions
Daesang also showcased its NAMINO® series, a next-generation line of natural flavor enhancers designed for clean-label and vegan food applications. NAMINO® products provide deep umami flavor while enabling up to 30% sodium reduction.
-
NAMINO UH (Upfront Umami High) delivers an immediate, full-bodied flavor impact
-
NAMINO LH (Lingering Umami High) offers a clean, sustained flavor finish
Also featured was Dsavory, a natural seasoning that imparts meaty and roasted aromas—ideal for replacing traditional seasonings in plant-based and clean label formulations. All these products meet FEMA-GRAS standards recognized by the U.S. FDA, ensuring both safety and international market readiness.
EMULAID™: Plant-Based Emulsion Innovation
Another standout was EMULAID™, a plant-based emulsion stabilizer that ensures stable mixing of oil and water in various applications. Ideal for vegan and allergen-free product lines, EMULAID can replace traditional animal-based emulsifiers like egg whites and casein, while reducing costs and extending shelf life by protecting active ingredients such as omega-3s, vitamins, and flavors.
Suitable for use in:
-
Coffee creamers
-
Salad dressings
-
Plant-based beverages
-
Pastry creams
EMULAID is available in customized formulations depending on the product application, offering flexibility and performance for food manufacturers.
