Set against the stunning backdrop of the international Resort of Tremblant and the captivating Laurentian mountains in Quebec, the IRONMAN® Mont-Tremblant triathlon marked its return. This event is a segment of the VinFast IRONMAN North America Series, along with the IRONMAN 70.3® Mont-Tremblant triathlon, which was initially scheduled for the previous June.
The prestigious IRONMAN Mont-Tremblant triathlon featured top female professionals in the field, competing for a share of the $USD 50,000 prize purse as part of the VinFast IRONMAN North America Series. Leading the podium in the women’s professional race was Rachel Zilinskas from the United States, achieving an impressive time of 9:12:06. In the men’s age-group category, Elliot-Olivier Pellerin from Canada secured the first position, crossing the finish line with a time of 9:06:44 in the IRONMAN Mont-Tremblant triathlon, a key event of the VinFast IRONMAN North America Series. For the women’s age-group race, Miranda Tomenson from Toronto, Canada claimed victory in the IRONMAN Mont-Tremblant triathlon, part of the VinFast IRONMAN North America Series.
In addition, the 2023 IRONMAN 70.3 Mont-Tremblant triathlon welcomed Canadians Zed Roy from Longueuil, Quebec, and Jessica Cullen from Waterloo, Ontario as the first finishers in this rescheduled event, coinciding with the full-distance competition.
Participants commenced their IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 endeavors with swims in Lac Tremblant, followed by exhilarating bike courses winding through the rolling countryside and the Laurentian Mountains before returning to the resort. The run courses led athletes alongside Lac Tremblant, down the P’tit train du Nord, and into the heart of the resort’s pedestrian village, culminating in a memorable finish line experience.
The 2023 IRONMAN Mont-Tremblant provided 100 female age group qualifying slots for the 2023 VinFast IRONMAN World Championship scheduled for October 14, 2023, in Kailua-Kona, Hawai’i. It also offered 15 male age group qualifying slots for the 2024 VinFast IRONMAN World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i on October 26, 2024. Likewise, the 2023 IRONMAN 70.3 Mont-Tremblant provided age group qualifying slots for the 2024 VinFast IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship on December 14 & 15, 2024, in Taupō, New Zealand.
