The second edition of the Sanskriti Awards for Outstanding Achievements took place earlier this month in Pune. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Shri Ajay Bhatt, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Defence and Tourism. Alongside him, notable personalities included Mrs. Devyani Mungali, Founder-Director of Sanskriti Group of Schools, and Col. (Retd) Dr. G.S Mungali (Retd.), Chairman of Sanskriti Group of Schools. Distinguished figures such as Lt. Gen. Ajai Kumar Singh AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, and Vice Admiral Ajay Kochhar also attended the event, joined by key guests, teachers, and students.
Introduced by the Sanskriti Group of Schools in 2022, these awards recognize and honor exceptional contributions across various sectors, including Healthcare, National Service, Education, Media, Sports, Governance, and Art and Culture. Recipients serve as inspiring role models for future generations, displaying significant positive influence in their respective domains. The Sanskriti School takes pride in celebrating these heroes who pave the way for others, especially young minds, to follow their footsteps.
Among the awardees were Lt. Gen. Rajendra Ramrao Nimbhorkar, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM** (Bar), and Subedar Major Sanjay Kumar, Param Veer Chakra, acknowledged for their service to the nation. In the realm of Governance, Mr. Mahesh Kisanrao Landge, Bhosari MLA, and Mr. Rahul Ranjan Mahiwal, PMRDA Commissioner, were honored. Mr. Kisan Dattoba Bhujbal, Education Extension Officer of Pune Zilla Parishad, received the Education award. Notable names in Healthcare like Dr. Uma Divate, Consultant Physician and Head of Department of Medicine, Jehangir Hospital, Pune, and Dr. Rajendra Patankar, Chief Executive Officer, Jupiter Hospitals, Pune, were also recognized. Kavita Kane was awarded for Literature, Mr. Chinmay Patankar, Senior Correspondent, won in the Media and Journalism category, while Mr. Umesh Zirpe, a veteran mountaineer renowned for leading a significant civilian expedition on Mount Everest, secured the award for Sports.
The awards ceremony was followed by the launch of the fourth book of Hindi poems titled ‘Chatpati Chulbuli Kavitayein,’ authored by Mrs. Devyani Mungali, Founder Director of Sanskriti Group of Schools. An accomplished educationist, storyteller, and author, Mrs. Devyani Mungali holds over 30 years of rich experience in education and literature. She was recently honored with the ‘Indian Education Excellence Award 2022.’
Underlining the significance of a strong value system, Shri Ajay Bhatt emphasized, “A solid value system, particularly nurtured during childhood, plays a pivotal role in shaping one’s future journey.” He praised Sanskriti School’s nurturing approach and the recognition of inspiring role models that encourage children to aspire to greatness. He shared personal anecdotes and life experiences that underscored the importance of perseverance and overcoming challenges.
In her concluding speech, Mrs. Devyani Mungali emphasized the commitment to nurturing young minds for the future. She stressed the role of role models in students’ lives and celebrated the Sanskriti Awards for Outstanding Achievements as a means to acknowledge trailblazers. Mrs. Mungali expressed her honor in having her poetry book launch coincide with the awards ceremony and amidst such distinguished personalities.
