In the face of rising healthcare costs and increasing incidence of critical illness, Chubb Life provides customers the financial support to ease family’s burden during the difficult moments
Chubb Life in Hong Kong today announced the launch of Embrace Care Critical Illness Protector (“Embrace Care”), which provides critical illness protection for individual customers and extends its support to their families. Allowing multiple claims of major illness for the most common killers in Hong Kong – cancer, heart attack or stroke and the offering of the first-in-market* premium waiver benefit for spouse’s/child’s major illness, Embrace Care provides an integrated solution for customers looking for comprehensive critical illness protection across different stages, with extended benefits to their family members.
With the family-oriented benefit, the premium of basic plan will be waived for up to 3 years if the policyowner’s spouse (aged below 75) or child (aged below 18) is diagnosed with a major illness. In the unfortunate event of the spouse or child passing away, the policyowner will be eligible for the 3-year premium waiver. This feature can help relieve the financial burden of the family through these difficult moments.
Customers can share 20% of the sum assured with their children (aged below 18) to provide financial protection against cancer. This offers reassurance to customers and their families given the often extensive and long-term treatment needed in these cases.
On top of the all-round family-oriented benefits, Embrace Care provides comprehensive protection by covering 134 illnesses at different stages, including 56 early stage illnesses (e.g. the surgical treatment of Angioplasty, Atherectomy or Minimally Invasive Direct Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting for Coronary Arteries, and Carcinoma-In-Situ), 8 juvenile illnesses (e.g. Severe Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis and Type I Diabetes Mellitus (Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus)), 5 special illnesses (e.g. Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever and Severe Asthma) (collectively “minor illnesses” ) and 65 major illnesses. Illnesses arising from undetected congential conditions can also be covered.
Customers can make multiple claims of minor illnesses for up to 90% of the sum assured and with the unique feature of Protection Revival Benefit, the protection level can be restored back to 100% of the sum assured upon diagonsis of a covered major illness or in the event of death before age 100, as long as the waiting period of one year is met, giving customers and their families peace of mind.
Embrace Care provides customers added protection up to age 100 against major killer diseases in Hong Kong by allowing 4 additional claims on major illness for cancer, heart attack or stroke after the first Major Illness Benefit is paid. The maximum benefit amount of major illness claims can be as high as 500% of the sum assured.
Mr. Michael Ho, The President of Chubb Life Hong Kong, said,”Critical illness can strike anyone without warning, and recovery can be a demanding process — physically, emotionally and financially. Chubb Life’s Embrace Care provides our customers an all-in-one critical illness solution with benefits extended to their family members, such as the first-in-market* Premium Waiver for Spouse’s/Child’s Major Illness, so we can give them the support needed in times of struggle. We aim to bring the additional peace of mind and financial coverage to our customers so that they can focus on the recovery of their loved ones.”
From now until 31 December 2018, upon successful application for Embrace Care together with family member(s), customers can enjoy premium discount of 10% as a welcome offer. The premium discount can be up to 20% if they apply Embrace Care together with their family.
