UMPG to Represent Lionsgate’s Music Publishing Properties & Act as Studio’s Global Administrator
Companies to Collaborate on Opportunities for UMPG’s Songwriters and Songs in Lionsgate’s Film, TV & Digital Content
SANTA MONICA, Calif., and VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Aug. 2, 2018 — Global content leader Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF.A, LGF.B) and Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG), a leading music publisher, today announced an exclusive long-term agreement under which UMPG will represent Lionsgate’s music publishing properties worldwide, including musical compositions and scores.
Under the administration agreement, UMPG will also administer Lionsgate’s music rights, including licensing, revenue collection and accounting.
Additionally, the companies will work together to create in-house opportunities by leveraging UMPG’s global roster of songwriters and expansive catalog of songs for creative use in Lionsgate’s vast portfolio of film, television and digital content.
