KUCHING, Malaysia, July 31, 2018 — iPeople, a citizen engagement mobile application which provides easy and direct municipal conversation has now been updated to serve as the official mobile app for the Kuching Festival 2018 in Sarawak, Malaysia.
Kuching Festival is an annual event organized by Kuching South City Council (MBKS) to commemorate Kuching on achieving the city status back in 1988 and this year marks the 30th anniversary celebrating the local food, culture, and community.
New activities will be held such as the Mayor’s Badminton Cup, International Cities Night, Kuching Got Talent, Traditional Oriental Music, Mayor’s Walk, and a fishing contest. Details about the events and activities can be found on the iPeople app.
Besides, as the official mobile app for Kuching Festival 2018, it will also provide updates and notification of the event via news feed, in addition to the list of programme and timing for the performances.
The biggest highlight of the Kuching Festival is its month-long food fair starting from July 27 to August 19. From BBQ fried chicken wings to Thailand fried crickets, foodies will be able to taste both local and exotic delicacies at more than hundreds of food stalls.
To the delight of foodies, iPeople app has integrated a food stall directory that can help them find their way through the food fair. Most importantly, foodies can also vote for their favorite food stores to push them to the top of the leaderboard in the mobile app.
Just launched two months ago by MBKS, the iPeople app enables two-way communication between the general public and authorities regarding municipal cases. Moving forward, the app will also be developed to facilitate the payment of parking tickets directly from the app.
