Show to be held at KINTEX, Korea from October 10 to 13, 2018
Showcasing the latest robot technologies from around the world, the 2018 Robot World will be held at KINTEX, Korea from October 10-13, 2018.
The Robot World (eng.robotworld.or.kr/wp), celebrating its 13th anniversary this year, consists of four main programs: ‘International Robot Industry Exhibition’ for the robotics industry, ‘International Robot Contest’, ‘International Robot Conference’ and ‘Promotion Hall’ for the exhibition and demonstration of commercial robots.
The “International Robotics Industry Exhibition” to be held in Hall 2 of KINTEX Exhibition Center 1 will serve as a venue for the robotics business. Over 200 companies from 20 countries will operate 500 booths to show their industrial robots, service robots, robot parts, smart manufacturing solutions, smart application and software, and drones.
This year’s exhibition will feature a “Specialty Pavilion” for the application of robots in everyday life and various industry sectors and a “Collaborative Robotics Pavilion” where visitors can get a glimpse of the collaborative robotics market and regulations as well as safety solutions for industrial sites.
The exhibition will be followed by the “Global Robot Business Forum”, “Korea-China-Japan Robotics Workshop”, and “Korea-China Robotics Forum” where robotics engineers from around the world will present robot industry forecasts to those visiting the exhibition.
The “International Robot Contest” to be held in Hall 1 of Exhibition Center I is a global event that has been participated in by various types of competitors including students (elementary, middle school, high school, and college) and adults. The theme for this year is “The Coexistence of Humans and Robots.” Based on this theme and a set of contest rules, participants will make robots and compete with each other in the areas of robot performance and in carrying out the missions. The 2018 International Robot Contest consists of 11 competitions and 29 categories.
The 2018 Robot World is an important venue for those in the industry, academe, and research communities to exchange information on the latest trends and discuss technical issues.
Participants in the exhibition and contest will also attend the International Robot Conference, where they can have an opportunity to form a network and review the development directions for new and convergence technologies taken by schools and businesses in Korea and abroad. The topic of this year’s International Robot Conference is “International Robotics Forum: Biomimetic Robots and Technologies,” so discussions will focus on biomimetic robots that can be applied in national defense, disaster relief, construction, and many other areas.
According to Kim Hwanguen, Vice President of the Korea Association of Robot Industry who will supervise the event, the Robot World is the largest robot exhibition in Korea. “We will turn it into a leading global exhibition by adding a platform for smart factories and artificial intelligence to robotics, which will surely play a leading role in the Fourth Industrial Revolution,” he added.
