SHANGHAI, July 13, 2018 — UK Superstar singer-songwriter Dua Lipa is bringing her much-anticipated debut tour to Guangzhou and Shanghai in September 2018. Dua is the #1 most streamed female artist on Spotify and has just spent 8 weeks at #1 in the UK this summer with her hit “One Kiss” – the most weeks at number one for a female artist this century.
The tour includes stops at Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Memorial Hall in Guangzhou on Sept. 11 and NECC HONG ARENA in Shanghai on Sept. 12.
Tickets to Dua Lipa Live in Shanghai 2018 start from RMB 480, and will go on sale at Damai.cn and via Damai ticket hotline 1010-3721 on 20 July (Friday). ABOUT Dua Lipa
Born in London to Albanian parents from Kosovo, Dua Lipa attended the Sylvia Young Theatre School until she was 11, when she and her family moved back to Kosovo. Encouraged by her teacher, Lipa convinced her parents to let her move back to London when she was 15 to follow her aspirations to become a singer and songwriter. She recorded songs and covers, posted them on social media and was discovered by Lana Del Rey’s management team, who recognized her incredible talent and signed her.
Once signed, Dua wrote and recorded her debut album. Her debut single, “New Love,” was followed up with the soulful “Be the One” that reached the Top 10 in a dozen European territories. Longlisted for the prestigious BBC Sound of 2016, Dua Lipa released “Hotter Than Hell” and “Blow Your Mind (Mwah)” in 2016, hitting Top 20 in the UK, and climbed into Billboard’s Top 25 in the US respectively. In 2017, she earned the distinction of having three simultaneously charting singles in the UK Top 15 with “Be the One,” “Scared to Be Lonely” with Martin Garrix, and “No Lie” with Sean Paul. Later on, Lipa scored her first UK No.1 single “New Rules” which also went on to become #1 in several other European countries and broke the record in the US for Billboard’s longest run on the Pop Songs Chart at 42 weeks, spending 5 weeks at #1 on the Top 40 Chart.
After a year of #1 hit singles, sold out shows and record breaking streaming figures, Dua Lipa has become the biggest breakout artist in the world. The video for her smash hit single “New Rules” is now sitting at over 1.3 billion views on YouTube.
