Bandero Tequila Expands Into Illinois, Nevada, and North Carolina as Demand Surges
Bandero Premium Tequila, the latest brand from John Paul DeJoria—co—founder of Patron—continues its rapid U.S. expansion. It is now available in Illinois, Nevada, and North Carolina. This marks a major milestone for the award-winning tequila, which already has strong distribution in California, Texas, Colorado, New York, and New Jersey.
The expansion follows growing demand for high-quality, additive-free tequila and a 50% increase in Bandero’s year-over-year sales. Within the past four months alone, the brand has increased its market share by 40%.
Bandero Blanco, known for its crisp, floral notes and silky texture, recently earned top honors at the 2025 Berlin International Spirits Competition, scoring a 95-point Gold Best in Class award—the highest possible rating at the event.
Founded in 2021, Bandero Tequila is crafted from 100% Blue Weber Agave, grown in the red clay soil of Los Altos, Jalisco, and matured for seven years before harvest. The result is a rich, naturally sweet agave flavor, perfected using traditional methods and modern sustainability practices.
“Our expansion is fueled by consumer demand for clean, authentic tequila,” said Johanna DeJoria, VP of Sales. “People are looking for elevated spirits that don’t compromise on quality, and Bandero delivers exactly that at an accessible price point.”
Award-Winning Tequila Crafted With Purpose
Bandero’s lineup features two premium offerings:
-
Bandero Blanco: An additive-free, triple-distilled tequila with bright, natural agave flavor, chill-filtered for clarity and purity.
-
Bandero Café: A bold blend of Blanco tequila, Mexican coffee concentrate, and agave honey. Smooth, rich, and layered with notes of vanilla, roasted coffee, and cacao.
With both retailing for under $50, Bandero fills a unique space in the fast-growing tequila category, offering a refined yet approachable sipping experience.
Sustainability & Craftsmanship at Its Core
Bandero embraces a zero-waste production model. Liquid byproducts are reused for irrigation, and agave fibers are repurposed to support local agriculture. Each bottle is made from recycled glass and features a plant-based vegan leather wrap, reflecting the brand’s dedication to sustainability.
As tequila sales in the U.S. soared to $6.5 billion in 2023, Bandero stands out by blending traditional Mexican heritage with a modern, eco-conscious twist, appealing to both seasoned connoisseurs and new tequila drinkers alike.
