Since July, global electricity consumption has surged due to sustained high temperatures, continuously breaking records for electricity load usage. To address power supply issues and combat global warming, Photovoltaic (PV) power generation has emerged as a crucial solution. JA Solar is dedicated to spreading the benefits of PV clean energy worldwide. As part of this mission, the company has initiated the supply of a 103.5MWp Fledderbosch ground-mounted PV power plant, commissioned by Ecorus, one of the Netherlands’ top three PV project contractors. The project is anticipated to be completed by 2023 and is situated in the province of Groningen in the northeastern Netherlands. Upon completion in February 2024, it will become the second-largest ground-mounted power plant in the country.
Ecorus, established in 2010, is a forward-looking new energy enterprise specializing in solar power generation. They offer development consultancy, solar deployment, and life cycle management services, aiming to provide green and reliable power while promoting sustainable development. Ecorus boasts substantial scale, significant influence, and is a prominent player in the European region.
JA Solar has been actively expanding its presence in the European market for several years. With its high-efficiency products and top-notch services, JA Solar has excelled in the continent. As of the first half of 2023, JA Solar held a 23% market share in the Netherlands. Moreover, JA Solar has consistently earned the title of “Top Brand PV” from EUPD in various European countries, including the Netherlands, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Poland, and others, underscoring its strong recognition in the European market.
Over recent years, JA Solar has cultivated a stable partnership with Ecorus. Their prior collaboration resulted in the construction of the 20.3MW Groetpolder riverside PV power plant, spanning nearly 4 kilometers and adding to the Netherlands’ picturesque landscapes. This project received accolades for its “best use of grid connection” and “best use of non-arable land,” leading Ecorus to win the 2022 Sustainability Award for Dutch EPC companies. The Fledderbosch ground-mounted PV power plant project signifies a deeper bond between the two companies and marks a new chapter in their cooperation. Together, they are committed to providing high-quality products and solutions, further enhancing the European PV market’s value.
