We introduced the X1, the world’s first fully integrated Bluetooth cycling helmet, and now the R1 will pack the same breakthrough communication technology in a sleek new helmet shape.
The R1 offers Bluetooth 4.1 technology to pair your smartphone and hear GPS directions, listen to music, take phone calls, and even hear instant feedback and cues from fitness apps monitoring stats such as speed, cadence, and heart rate without distraction. The R1’s fully integrated Bluetooth communication system allows users to talk via intercom with up to three other riders over a half mile distance. Open-Ear audio functionality combined with Sena’s unique communication technology will elevate any ride.

Riders can navigate through the helmet’s features with the 3-button control integrated directly onto helmet. Speakers placed above the ear offer a safer alternative to riding with in-ear buds. The R1 is designed with an in-mold polycarbonate shell, and will soon be available featuring MIPS (Multi-Directional Impact Protection) Technology.
Sena offers a two year warranty for issues with the technology within the R1. Future firmware updates will keep your R1 up to date with the latest software from Sena.
