Historic Second Conference on Human Enhancement Unites Global Leaders in Sports and Science
Oxford Hosts Landmark Collaboration as Declaration on Human Enhancement Sets Ethical Framework for the Future of Human Performance
The Second Conference on Human Enhancement, held on December 10, 2024, in Oxford, brought together world-renowned scientists, Olympians, and human enhancement experts for a transformative dialogue on the future of sport, science, and ethics. Over 50 global leaders came together to ratify the Declaration on Human Enhancement, a pioneering charter outlining the principles for ethical research and innovation in human performance.
Featuring keynote addresses from notable figures including Bryan Johnson, founder of Blueprint and longevity science innovator; Dave Asprey, the “Father of Biohacking”; and Professor George Church, a leading geneticist, the conference marked a milestone in fostering collaboration between sports and science communities.
The Declaration on Human Enhancement sets forth ten foundational principles, including:

- The Right to Freedom from Coercion: Protecting athletes’ autonomy and choices.
- The Right to Equality of Access: Ensuring advancements in science are available to all.
Co-authored by Bryan Johnson, Dave Asprey, Dr. Michael Ashenden—developer of the athlete blood passport system—and Dr. Nenad Dikic, founder of a national anti-doping agency, the Declaration represents a unified global commitment to embracing enhancement technologies responsibly and ethically.
